Curating and Project Direction
Tangles in Time
Role: Project Director & Performance Co-Producer
Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral, Philadelphia, PA
Presented by Thomas Jefferson University & Theater of Witness
September 13-14, 2019
During 2017-2019, I was project director for Building Empathy Through the Arts, a multipart exploration of creativity and relationship-building between healthcare trainees and community members across generations. The project culminated in Tangles in Time, an original Theater of Witness performance created and performed by people living with dementia, care partners, medical and nursing students, and resident physicians.
Based on the performers’ own true stories of love, loss, illness and caregiving, the production wove together live performance with original music, film and visual imagery. Tangles in Time invited all people to connect and build empathy—even through changes in memory and time.

Performance directed and co-produced by Teya Sepinuck, Founder and Artistic Director, Theater of Witness.
